Three book artists, who work in different genres, talk about their approach to papercraft book design in this video by PBS. Their works range greatly in style: a familiar pop-up form that tells a traditionally scripted story; a collection of dimensional scenes, each illustrated page telling a silent story that knits together while progressing through the images, akin to individual cells in a graphic novel; to book craft as art, playing with the book as medium to extract new meaning from the intrinsic structure and greater philosophical nature of the book as an object.
