Cloud

Canadian artist Caitlind r.c. Brown created this interactive sculpture that was installed outdoors for Nuit Blanche Calgary in Alberta. The incandesent cloud is made from approximately 1000 working bulbs and an additional 5000 burnt out bulbs that were donated (donations still sought).

The working lights comprise the center of the cloud and are rigged with pull chains. The burnt out bulbs surround the working part of the structure diffusing the light within. The color of the burnt bulbs creates contour and variation in Cloud.

Visitors stand under the cloud, switching lights off and on, creating a shifting light that gives a sense of a storm on the horizon.
