Keep Calm

It appears to be a video day, though for once it isn’t about being short on time. I simply keep finding enjoyable links.

The Keep Calm and Carry On craze has reached a fever pitch. Posters, tee shirts, even cross stitch patterns urge us to keep calm and… any variety of activities. The only one I’ve been tempted to purchase proves my nerdiness once again: Keep Calm and Don’t Blink. Other versions range from …put a bird on it, …remove the arrow from your knee, …drink wine.

This video gives the story behind the origin of the poster (spoiler – WWII propaganda poster) and the accidental rebirth of the slogan’s popularity many years later. It also highlights a bookstore in the North of England that I will need to visit should I make it there one day.
