No matter how much you like a band, if you haven’t seen them perform before you can’t be sure what you’re getting. Do they perform well live or are they more of a studio band? Will they stand limply on stage? Will the show be a spectacle of lights and stage props or will it be bare, centered on the musicians?

I enjoy the anticipation of a show, though not the disappointment when the band doesn’t deliver. Yeasayer, a favorite band, is currently on tour. Their music is experimental, often trying to push boundaries and so it makes sense that they would seek the same in their performance. This brief video gives us an idea of what to expect on the current tour. I haven’t bought tickets (waiting for someone to plan their class schedule) but with luck, I’ll get to see it.
