Sesame Street Muppets as 2D Shapes

Designer Thomas Pastrano captured the essence of classic Sesame Street muppets in his poster design. Borrowing basic shapes, he arranged the most recognizable characteristics, making each muppet immediately recognizable.

Some muppets have fewer qualities to work with since the are comprised of colored fur, googly eyes and a mouth. Cookie Monster is still my favorite of his posters.

The project is called “The Streets.” That title conjures people sitting on their city stoops (that fits with Sesame Street) and some general hooliganism. I’d like to see Sesame Street if the muppets acted like real city dwellers. Oscar the Grouch is as close as they come. It would be even better if the episode emulated an episode of The Wire.
