OK, I know, that didn’t take long. I’ve been carrying my Lytro around. I’m getting better with it and bonus, it’s far smaller and lighter than my Nikon (I broke auto focus which makes the photo taking challenge greater).

I live in a city that is an active supporter of the arts, local business and community. There are events going on all the time in a couple of the larger squares. The events are usually good, but not always awesome. I am looking forward to my friends space dance party under McGrath Highway. She’s throwing it the day of (or maybe after) she returns from Burning Man; better her than me!

This pic is from an event last weekend, the Hungry Tiger festival. The idea is to highlight local Asian restaurants; cheap food, fire spinners and a giant painted tiger courtesy of said friend above. The festival was good, but truth, we spent much of the time in a speak easy style bar that is excellent. I love a place where “Bartender’s Choice” is a menu option. Say a liquor and a fruity addition, if you want, and something yummy returns. It’s also a good time, siting with great friends who have an equally inappropriate sense of humor, making ourselves laugh all night.
