This is photo number 365. I didn’t miss one day of posting a photo, if nothing else, this year. It also marks one year of blogging since my very first post was a photo of the day. I have admittedly been waxing and waning with the photography of late. I find myself halfheartedly selecting photos that I’m not all that happy with (yesterday’s being one) and struggling to write a story to match at 6 in the morning, coffee in hand, so my photo posts have devolved in to 1 line comments or quips most days.
This leads me to the question of whether to continue a photo every day; a question I’ve been pondering for about a month now. While I will continue to post photos, I find it’s become my blogging crutch. Somedays I think “well you posted a photo so that’s enough for today.” I don’t read, find interesting stories or post about them and those are what make reading a blog fun. In an effort to kickstart my blogging efforts, you’ll continue to see my snapshots on the screen but you won’t see a post titled photo of the day. It’s time for me to reinvigorate this blog, regain some energy, and enjoy reading and writing again.
Congratulation for making the 1-year mark! I, too am on this journey… but I wasn’t as persistent as you. My photo year wraps up end of December with some ‘pockets’ of empty photos along the way.
