Smells Like Books

I worked in a used and rare bookstore for almost a decade. One comment I would occasionally hear outside of work was that I smelled like books. I generally took that to mean I smelled like dust, red rot, brittle or acidified paper. You would think that working in a library would mean that I still receive the same comments, but it’s been years since I’ve had my aroma compared to that of a book. It would appear that a product can help me bring it back – that’s right, book perfume. For only $98 I can once again smell like a book.

For the record, I don’t believe that I ever did smell like a book and wouldn’t pay $98 to smell like anything. I’ll stick with soap.

I certainly had my hands reek of old pulps and so forth, but that was answered with a hand-wash. As I’m pretty sure your clothes might have occasionally picked up a similar scent, my trust in your general personal hygiene would say this was more anomalous than anything else.
