I definitely don’t need a new crafting hobby. I have bins and drawers filled with paper, beads, yarn, latch hook supplies and others I’ve likely forgotten. That doesn’t stop me though and my newest idea is cross stitch. I’ve never been into the country patterns or old time positive messages, but there are a wide variety of cheeky, sarcastic patterns now that I would hang on my wall.
So I’ve been trolling Etsy, spending time that could be more usefully spent folding laundry or vacuuming, looking at the possibilities. Having never cross stitched before, I’m told these are out of my league for my first run through, unless I want to throw the project across the room in a fit of frustration – wouldn’t be the first time.
I have in this process learned that my boyfriend knows how to cross stitch and has chosen Ron Swanson as his pattern. I’m pretty excited to have a cross stitch of Ron on my wall, but given that my boy works full time and is in grad school, I guessing it won’t be done quickly. For my part, I’m going to start with the “That’s What She Said” in binary code beginner’s kit.
