Vacationitis

Whenever I return from vacation, I immediately start thinking of the next place I want to explore. Not that I’m going to charge back out – my bank account and work wouldn’t like it. It can’t hurt to look though.

I came across images of this resort in the Lapland region of Finland. Now, Finland is not one of the first places that pop to mind when I think about vacation, but these glass igloos with their view of the northern lights and starry skies have definitely moved it up the list.

The igloos are made from a special thermal glass that maintains a constant temperature inside and prevents the glass from frosting. The Igloos have their own bathrooms, and if you want to leave the comfort of your cubby, you can enjoy a sauna and then jump in a fresh ice hole. Who’s in?

  1. Holy crap that sounds awesome. Can we get the Libraries to pay for that as some sort of morale or team-building event?!

I know, right? The photos of the inside looked pretty amazing too. I’ve always wanted to see the aurora borealis and even better in a glass igloo!
